Senate Antitrust Bill Helps Legacy Retailers At The Expense Of Consumers and SMBs

Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA)’s American Innovation and Choice Online Act targets select leading American companies with onerous regulations and would hurt consumers and small businesses.

The bill would ban Amazon from common business practices while exempting the biggest retailers, like Walmart, CVS, Target, and Costco, from any similar burden. The bill would eliminate the retail experience of free, one to two day-shipping for Prime customers and leave consumers and small businesses with less choice, convenience, and higher prices.

Read this DisCo post by CCIA President Matt Schruers to learn more about why the bill would be a disaster for consumers and small businesses.
