Sen. Klobuchar’s Antitrust Bill Could Break Consumer Favorites

Sen. Klobuchar’s American Innovation and Choice Online Act could break convenient and low-cost technology products and services that hundreds of millions of consumers enjoy. This bill does nothing to protect consumers but instead aims to hamstring some companies at the benefit of others.

Here’s the price that consumers will have to pay because of Sen. Klobuchar’s antitrust bill:

— Sen. Klobuchar’s antitrust bill could ban Amazon from common business practices but exempt the biggest retailers, leaving consumers and small businesses with fewer choices, less convenience, and higher prices.

— Sen. Klobuchar’s antitrust bill could ban Google from showing helpful search results for consumers but allow competitors to present the same information, destroying convenient, integrated products and services that consumers love.

— Sen. Klobuchar’s antitrust bill could break what works for consumers by making Google Maps less useful for consumers and eliminating Amazon’s retail experience of free, one to two-day shipping for Prime customers, as highlighted by CCIA’s Don’t Break What Works campaign.
