With Inflation Still Rising, Policymakers Should Not Risk Higher Digital Prices

According to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers, prices in the overall economy increased by 0.4% in February, with the annual inflation rate at 6% from last year. However, prices of online goods continued to fall, with digital prices dropping 0.3% from January 2023 and 1.4% from February 2022, according to the Adobe Digital Price Index. 

As tech shows resilience amid overall rising inflation, lawmakers should not pass legislation that would further raise prices by disrupting the digital economy. Recent anti-tech bills not only face broad disapproval from American consumers, but could raise prices, according to experts from both sides of the aisle.
